Cabrillo Beach of Los Angeles is a marvelous place for enjoying traditional beach recreation, in addition to the marvels of nature. Whale watching is the perfect pastime during the winter season, giving way to Grunion runs in the spring and summer months. Grunion can be legally caught by hand under the bright moonlight.

Unlike other cities in California, Los Angeles isn't a compact community but a sprawling suburbia comprised of a host of locales along the ocean and in the desert basin.
